Calgary police say the death of a woman who was found with an apparent gunshot wound Thursday night in the northeast community of Temple is being investigated as a homicide. Police have identified the woman as Jamie Lynn Sheible, 23.

Calgary police say the death of a woman who was found Thursday night with an apparent gunshot wound in the northeast community of Temple is being investigated as a homicide. 

Officers were called to the 300 block of Templeview Drive N.E at about 7:15 p.m. on Thursday for reports of gunshots, police said in a release.

They found an unconscious woman in medical distress. She was taken to Foothills hospital but later died from her injuries.

After performing an autopsy on Friday, police have identified the woman as Jamie Lynn Sheible, 23.

“We continue to investigate this fatal shooting and the motivation has yet to be determined,” said Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta.

“Our investigators believe this was a targeted incident and do not believe it to be random.”

This is the city’s 10th homicide this year.
