Headmaster sent to jail for raping Marma girl, recording the act in Bandarban – Toronto Sports Media

Headmaster of a local high school in Ruma upazila of Bandarban has been arrested in a case filed for allegedly raping a student.

Abul Kashem, officer-in-charge of Ruma Police Station, confirmed the development to our Bandarban correspondent.

Samor Kanti Datto (55) was arrested from his house last night, hours after the victim’s elder sister filed the case against him under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and Pornography Act, said the OC.

The arrestee was sent to jail by a district court after police produced him before it today, said the police official.

Quoting the case statement, the OC said Samor Kanti raped the girl when she went for tuition at his house around 4:30pm on August 23, 2019.

The teacher also recorded the act with his mobile phone, added OC Abul Kashem.

The girl narrated the incident to her family after the teacher sent a video footage of the incident to the victim’s imo account on September 22 this year.

The same day, Samor Kanti also threatened the victim over phone, saying if she does not agree to marry him, he will circulate the video on the internet, added the case statement.
