Which the CEO says will help the organization to demonstrate leadership in board governance, financial accountability and volunteer involvement
The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) has received accreditation from Imagine Canada.
It recognizes charitable organizations for excellence in non-profit accountability, transparency and governance.
“Accreditation with Imagine Canada pushed us to review our own policies and procedures, as well as shared standards for Canadian charities that we can utilize and adapt to strengthen our organization’s capacity.” Kathrin Delutis, Chief Executive Officer at HSKWSP, explained in a news release.
“It will help us to demonstrate excellence and leadership in Board governance, financial accountability & transparency, fundraising, staff management and volunteer involvement – all of which are vitally important to our success.”
It’s only the second humane society to receive the Imagine Canada Trustmark.
“With this certification through Imagine Canada, our donors can feel comfortable that the Humane Society is engaged in ethical fundraising and takes the privacy and wishes of our donors very seriously.” said Nick Burke, Director of Development at HSKWSP.
“It adds an additional layer of trust so our donors know that we respect their contribution and will work with them to serve the animals and our communities the best that we can.”
