A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed multiple times on a York Region transit bus Monday afternoon.

York Region officers responded to a weapons call in the Yonge St. and Royal Orchard Blvd. in Richmond Hill.

Officers located the victim after he was stabbed on a VIVA bus. The man was transported via emergency run to a trauma centre with possibly life-threatening injuries.

Police said one male suspect, and possibly a second male suspect, are involved in the incident. They believe both fled the scene on foot.
