A 24-year-old North York man suffered life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle collision Saturday morning.

At around 3 a.m., a driver on the westbound lanes of Highway 407, near Steeles Avenue, was going at “a high rate of speed” before crashing into a guard rail and rolling onto the grass, the OPP said.

They said speed was a factor and there was does not seem to be any indication of drugs or alcohol.

OPP highway officers are investigating.
