Many walkers and runners set out from the start of the Biasi-Shuma Memorial 5K Run-Walk near Toronto High School’s Red Knights Stadium. The race raised about $17,000 for the Trinity Health System Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, the United Way of Jefferson County and scholarships for Toronto High School graduates. Austen Duggan of Steubenville placed first among male runners in the Biasi-Shuma Memorial 5K Run-Walk, with a time of 16:46:52, and Emily Pearson of Wintersville was the first to finish among female runners, with a time of 22:17:95. The top male and female walkers were Carl Kondratch of Barnesville and Sarah Donley of Bethesda, who missed getting their photo taken because they were headed to another race. The Toronto event drew 215 participants.
